A Interview
Attending the world's hottest parties, strutting
down fashion catwalks and gracing the covers of international magazines
translates into a lot of traveling for Paris and Nicky Hilton.
And now that the hot-blooded hotel heiresses have
launched their own handbag line for Japan-based Samantha Thavasa, it
only means more globe-trotting. One thing's for sure: Paris, 21, and
Nicky, 19, will never have to worry about getting a hotel room.
Favorite luggage brands
Nicky: I don't like traveling with
expensive luggage, especially since my Louis Vuitton duffel was stolen
at Boston's Logan Airport. I was visiting friends from college and
I had no clothing. It was horrible!
Paris: Enormous black duffel bags.
I have learned to pack more wisely (not less), and I can fit more in a
duffel than in a suitcase.
Favorite hotel
N: The Beverly Hills Hotel in L.A.
My family lived in one of the bungalows for a while while our house was
being renovated. The coffee shop and the Polo Lounge are the best,
and I love having lunch by the pool.
P: The London Hilton. It's in the
middle of it all: great shopping and fantastic nightlife.
Favorite destination
N: Los Angeles. I lived there until
I was 12, and there are great restaurants and beaches.
P: Again, London.
Favorite restaurant
N:
Serafina's in N.Y. I must go there four times a week. The
food is so fresh and yummy, especially the Focaccia Ligure and the
margherita pizza.
P: Le Cirque. I had my 21st
birthday party there. |
Favorite drink
N: I must drink four or five cans of Coke a
day. My boyfriend [MTV veejay Brian McFayden] has the coolest
vintage Coca-Cola machine that still works.
P: I love, love, love frozen hot
chocolates and mochaccinos from Serendipity.
Must-haves on the road
N: I'm lost without my cell phone.
I also always travel with my own Conair hair dryer, Bed Head shampoo,
Nars moisturizer, Toni&Tina concealer, and a photo album of my friends
and family.
P: Music, family photos, Estee Lauder
Flight Cream, Channel mascara, MAC Lip Glass and my dogs.
Favorite airline
N: I love Jet Blue; there's never a
line to check in and they have cable on the small TVs.
P: I fly United a lot, and like most
people, I love business class.
Favorite airport
N: London Heathrow. I
purposely go
early to the airport so I can shop before I leave.
P: Heathrow has amazing duty-free
shopping and a great Virgin Atlantic lounge with an arcade and a buffet.
Favorite
souvenirs
N:
Sweatshirts and T-shirts from big
department stores like Harrod's and Harvey Nichols.
P: T-shirts.
Most irritation in-transit moment
N: When Brian and I were in London this
summer, a security guard checked our carry-on for, like, a half-hour,
and ended up not putting my case of DVDs back in my bag. I had no
movies to watch on the way home, and Brian couldn't use his PlayStation
discs, so he wasn't too happy, either.
P: When my luggage was lost, I just about
lost my mind. It's the worst feeling to wait and wait and nothing
comes down the carousel. --Farrah Weinstein (N.Y.Post) |
